What you’ll know before you pay your supplier

Not a margin calculator. The figures that decide whether this product survives Amazon’s fees, your advertising and its own paperwork.

Real profit per unit

After the referral fee and the FBA fulfilment fee come off — not before them.

True margin and ROI

What each unit returns on the cash you tie up in stock for months.

Fees for your exact size tier

Matched to your packed box and weight, dimensional weight included.

Break-even sale price

The price below which every single sale costs you money.

Maximum ad spend per unit

What you can pay for a sale before the product stops paying for itself.

Compliance and product risks

The rules that apply to this exact product, each with its source link.

A clear score and verdict

0 to 100, with the reason on the first line — including when to walk away.

1

The product

What you plan to sell, and for how much.

Landed cost = one unit delivered to Amazon: goods, freight, duty, inspection.

2

Packed size and weight

Measure the retail box, not the product. This sets your FBA fee.

3

Category and product type

Category sets the referral fee. The tick boxes decide which compliance rules run.

  3. 3Confirm £4.80 includes duty and sea freight.
  4. 4Read the 1–2 star reviews on the top three listings.
  5. 5Order 300 units maximum as a first test.

Example figures for illustration only — not a real customer’s product. Your report is built from the numbers you enter.

Why a margin calculator isn’t enough

Four things turn a product that looked profitable in a spreadsheet into stock you cannot sell at a profit.

The fee, not the price

A box 2 mm too tall jumps a size tier. That single centimetre can cost more per unit than your whole margin, and it is decided by the packaging your supplier quotes.

Advertising eats the margin

A new listing usually spends 10–20% of revenue on ads to get its first reviews. A margin that looks fine at 18% often does not survive that.

Paperwork is decided before you order

Batteries, cosmetics, anything for children or touching food need documents your supplier may not have. You find out at the border, not at the listing.

The downside, not the best case

Price drops, fee rises, freight increases and returns each get modelled separately, so you can see which one turns this product into a loss.

The numbers are calculated, not generated

Every figure comes from a deterministic calculation against a versioned fee table. A language model writes the commentary around those numbers and is never allowed to produce one.

Fee tables are versioned

Amazon changes its fees. Each report records which fee table produced it, so a report you ran in March still shows March’s working in September.

Compliance rules cite their source

Every rule that fires links to the regulator or the Seller Central page it comes from. You can check the working rather than take our word for it.

We tell you when to walk away

A tool that approves every product is worthless. If the maths does not work, the report says so on the first line.

Questions people actually ask

What does the full report cost?

£9.99 on Amazon.co.uk, $9.99 on Amazon.com and €9.99 on supported EU marketplaces. It is a one-time payment for that product — there is no subscription, and nothing is charged until you have seen your free score and decided the product is worth a closer look.

Where do the FBA fees come from?

From published Amazon fee schedules, stored as versioned tables in our database rather than hard-coded. We match your packed dimensions and weight to the correct size tier the same way Amazon does, including dimensional weight. They are estimates: your own account may have promotional rates, and Amazon changes its schedule, so always confirm the final figure in Seller Central before you commit.

Do I need an Amazon account or an API key?

No. You type in the numbers you already have — price, cost, box size, weight, category. If you want the demand section, you copy four numbers off the Amazon listing itself. Nothing connects to your seller account.

Why is the free check free?

Because it costs us almost nothing to run — it is pure arithmetic on our server, with no AI involved. We show you the score for free and charge only for the full working. If the free check tells you the product is a loser, that is a useful answer and you owe us nothing.

Is the report written by AI?

The numbers are not. Every fee, margin, break-even figure and compliance rule is calculated deterministically from your inputs and our rule tables. A language model writes the commentary and the action list around those numbers, and it is explicitly forbidden from inventing or changing a figure.

What if the product is a bad idea?

Then the report says so, on the first line, with the reason. That is the whole point. A report that tells everyone to proceed would cost you far more than it saved.

Do you keep my product idea?

Your inputs are stored so you can return to your report through its private link. We do not publish them, sell them, or use them to source products ourselves. See the privacy page for detail.

Can I get a refund?

If the report fails to generate, or something in it is factually wrong about the fee schedule, email us and we refund it. See the refunds page for the full policy.

Your supplier gets paid either way

Check the numbers first. It is free, it takes under a minute, and it is the cheapest part of the whole decision.
